in-the-deep-wall-art
In the Deep | Wall Art

In the Deep is an original, hand-drawn artwork by Singapore artist Preetie Kohli, worked in fluorescent ink on black cotton duck canvas and part of the Tides & Thickets collection. It measures 48 × 48cm and arrives framed in wood without glass, ready to hang. It is one of a kind — the piece you receive is the original, not a print.

In the Deep came from the same experiment as Lines of Life: cotton duck canvas, a black ground, and nothing but dots and lines. The black pulls every colour into itself, and the rough weave resists ordinary ink. So each layer of fluorescent dual-nib marker was built up slowly, one dot at a time. When the tide moves out, it leaves bare what the water usually keeps hidden: the flora beneath the surface, bubbles and reeds, and the most exquisite colours rising from the ocean floor. This piece is my way of holding that moment still.

Artwork: Original, hand-drawn by Preetie Kohli; one of a kind

Medium: Fluorescent ink on black cotton duck canvas

Size: 48 × 48cm

Colours: Turquoise, cobalt blue, sage green, olive gold and white

Framing: Black wooden frame with a silver inner edge; unglazed, ready to hang

Collection: Tides & Thickets

Made in: Singapore, by hand

Care: The canvas is unglazed.
