About Riverbed Echoes
Riverbed Echoes is a series of four original canvas works, hand-drawn by Preetie Kohli at our Joo Chiat studio in Singapore, ink layered over ink directly onto the canvas. They are the largest pieces in the Wall Art collection, framed in wood without glass, from S$3,280 to S$5,920.
Each is the only one of its kind: you receive the artwork itself, never a print of it.
What's in Riverbed Echoes
Song of the Tide, at 78 x 62cm, is the largest work in the collection, drawn from sunlit water on the Ganges. Three companion pieces share a 50 x 42cm format, each holding a different hour or season of the river: Whispers Beneath Water in dawn tones, The Flow Within in calm pre-monsoon hues, and Blush of Stillness in autumn colour.
The River Behind the Series
The series began with mornings by the Ganges near Rishikesh. On canvas, ink can be layered over ink until the surface holds real depth, the way moving water does, rather than reading flat. The newer canvas pair, Tides & Thickets, takes the same surface somewhere darker.
Where Riverbed Echoes Works Best
Song of the Tide is made to carry a living room's main wall on its own, above a sofa or across from the entrance. The 50 x 42cm works suit a dining wall, a study or a bedroom, and two side by side give a wider wall presence without one oversized frame. Leave space around them; canvas this layered rewards being seen from a few steps back and then up close.
