Frequently Asked Questions

Artwork, Framing & Sizes

Do you frame the artwork?

Every Tangled Monk piece is sold framed and ready to hang — you receive the finished framed artwork, not a print to frame yourself. The frame is thoughtfully matched to complement each artwork and its varying shades of colours. Though the artworks are framed, framing can be customised but at an extra cost to cover the new framing.

Tangled Monk sells its 40+ artworks framed only, shipping from the Singapore studio to Singapore and 4 countries abroad: India, Australia, the UK and the US.

How do I choose the right wall art for my home?

Choosing wall art comes down to the piece you connect with and the space it will live in. Tangled Monk offers 40+ original hand-drawn artworks, each sold framed and ready to hang, so you can match a piece to a room without arranging framing yourself.

Prefer something made for your space? A bespoke commission is drawn to your brief in 2 to 6 weeks, starting from S$500. Feel free to reach out to us via WhatsApp or Email to commission a bespoke piece.

What sizes are available for Tangled Monk's original artworks and art-led objects?

Tangled Monk's original wall art ranges from 27 x 27 cm accent pieces up to 78 x 62 cm statement works, with 28 x 28 cm and 34 x 34 cm the most common sizes across the collection — all sold framed and ready to hang. Because every piece is an original, sizes vary by artwork rather than following a fixed set of standard formats; the exact dimensions are listed on each product page. Ceramic art coasters come in sets of 2, 4 or 6, and the tote bags come in 6oz cotton, 12oz natural canvas, and 10oz raw denim. A bespoke commission can also be made to your exact dimensions in 2 to 6 weeks, starting from S$500.

How should I care for my Tangled Monk art pieces to keep them pristine?

To keep a framed Tangled Monk artwork looking its best, hang it out of direct sunlight and away from damp, and wipe the glass and frame with a soft, dry cloth.

For art-led objects like ceramic coasters and tiles, wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

The bags are made from natural fabrics — 10oz raw denim, 12oz canvas and 6oz cotton — so turn them inside out and hand wash cold with a mild detergent, skip the bleach, and dry flat in the shade. If you iron, press on the reverse and avoid the printed artwork; raw denim may release a little indigo in its first few washes, so wash it on its own. Because every design begins as an original hand-drawn artwork, avoid harsh cleaners or water on the artwork itself.

How can I commission a bespoke art piece from Tangled Monk?

A bespoke Tangled Monk commission is an original hand-drawn piece made to your brief, and it takes 2 to 6 weeks from consultation to finished artwork, starting from S$500.

The process begins with a consultation to agree the concept, then the piece is drawn by hand and delivered framed and ready to hang.

Shipping, Delivery & Collection

Does Tangled Monk ship internationally, and what are the available delivery and collection options?

Yes. Tangled Monk ships from its Singapore studio and currently delivers to 4 countries beyond Singapore: India, Australia, the UK and the US.

Within Singapore you can choose standard delivery or self-collection from the studio at 170B Joo Chiat Road, Level 3, by appointment.

Every Tangled Monk artwork is sent framed and ready to hang.

Can Tangled Monk ensure my order arrives by a particular date for a special event or gift?

Yes — tell Tangled Monk your date and the studio will confirm what's possible.

Ready-made framed pieces ship from Singapore worldwide, including to India, Australia, the UK and the US, so allow time for international delivery; a bespoke commission needs 2 to 6 weeks to create.

For a firm arrival date, contact the studio at 170B Joo Chiat Road, Level 3.

How long will it take to get my order?

It depends on where you are. Domestic deliveries (within Singapore) may be delivered in 7 business days for standard deliveries and express deliveries within 5 days.

Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days.

Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.

Returns

Can I return my order?

Yes — Tangled Monk has a 30-day return window, so you have 30 days from receiving your order to request a return. To be eligible, the piece must be unused and uninstalled, in its original packaging with any tags intact, and you'll need your receipt or proof of purchase.

Email studio@tangledmonk.com to start a return — items sent back without requesting one first can't be accepted. Once approved, send it to 170B Joo Chiat Road, Level 3, Singapore 427441, using a trackable service. Return shipping is at your cost unless the item is faulty or incorrect, and original shipping charges aren't refundable.

Once your return arrives and has been inspected, approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days. Allow a little longer for your bank or card issuer to post it.

My Tangled Monk piece arrived damaged. What should I do?

Contact the studio at studio@tangledmonk.com within 48 hours of delivery so it can be assessed and resolved. Because some of the pieces are ceramic and framed, keep all the original packaging until the claim is settled, and send clear photos of the outer box, the inner protective materials, and the piece itself — one close-up of the damage and one wider shot.

Where an item arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, the usual exclusions don't apply: original shipping charges, customs duties and taxes are refundable, and you don't bear the return shipping.

Can I return a bespoke or commissioned piece?

No. Bespoke and commissioned artworks are drawn to your brief, so they can't be returned or exchanged. The same applies to customised products, sale items, gift cards, and any piece that has been installed, used, washed or altered.

This is why a commission starts with a consultation — the concept is agreed with you before any drawing begins, across the 2 to 6 week process. If a commissioned piece arrives damaged or isn't what was agreed, that's a different matter: contact the studio within 48 hours of delivery and it will be resolved.
