About Our Tote Bags
Every Tangled Monk tote carries original hand-drawn artwork by Singapore artist Preetie Kohli, printed on the bag rather than reproduced as a generic pattern. The range splits into two families: Canvas Carry, in natural canvas and cotton, and Indigo Carry, in denim. Prices run from S$20 to S$75.
Each bag comes as a single printed design rather than a choice of colourways, so the artwork itself is the point of difference between pieces. They are made for everyday carrying, and for gifting.
Canvas Carry and Indigo Carry
Canvas Carry is the lighter-weight side. Collected Moments is a 12oz natural canvas workbag with an internal laptop sleeve, two inside holders for a water bottle or phone, and hooks for a long cross-body strap. The Canvas Foldable Tote is natural cotton that folds away between errands, a dependable alternative to single-use bags.
Indigo Carry is denim: two everyday totes, Winged Whispers and Tidal Bloom, in washed denim, and the Butterfly Assembly weekender in 10oz denim, with two external bottle holders and a D-hook for keys.
The Artwork on Each Bag
Every design begins as an ink composition built from the same Zentangle®-based linework that runs through Preetie's wall art. Winged Whispers came from a wall of butterflies and a memory that lingers. Tidal Bloom follows the rhythm of the flowers in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Butterfly Assembly gathers many butterflies into one composition, drawn around presence and gentle movement. As with the rest of the Tangled Monk range, the drawing is original and artist-made in the Joo Chiat studio; the studio's production partners manufacture the bag to that artwork.
