About Rhythm in Six
Rhythm in Six is a series of seven original long horizontals, each made from six small acid-free paper tiles that Preetie Kohli hand-draws at our Joo Chiat studio in Singapore and sets side by side in one wooden frame. Every piece runs about 50 to 55cm wide by 21cm tall, framed behind glass, at S$1,065.
Each frame is one original. When a piece sells, it's gone, and sold works stay visible so you can see how the series grew. The full range is in Wall Art.
What's in Rhythm in Six
The series moves through colour. Azure Pathway is blue and silver; Earthlight Harmony keeps to earthy greens; Six Leaves of Life stays in shades of grey; Ripples of Time uses green for renewal; Crimson Chronicle is festive crimson. Terracotta Tales borrows its motifs from tatting lace, and The Patterned Path is built from repeated pattern in the spirit of the Zentangle® method.
Six Tiles, One Line of Thought
Working on small tiles means each one is finished before the next begins, so the six read like a sentence: related, but never identical. The same mini tiles become squarer, many-tiled mosaics in The Many Within One.
Where Rhythm in Six Works Best
The long, low format was made for the space above a console, sideboard or low bookshelf, where it covers the width without crowding the height. It also suits a hallway or the narrow band of wall above a headboard. Measure the furniture first: a frame about two-thirds its width usually sits well.
