About Our Silk Scarves
Tangled Monk's silk scarves carry Preetie Kohli's original hand-drawn artwork, composed as a single uninterrupted drawing and printed edge to edge onto 100% silk. There are two designs, Dusk Lotus and Midnight Paisley, each a 120 x 120cm square with hand-rolled edges, at S$175.
Drawn slowly on paper, then carried onto silk: art to be worn, folded and kept.
The Two Scarves
Dusk Lotus was drawn after a week Preetie spent among Japanese artisans working in kimono art, indigo dyeing and ceramics, where what stayed with her was the thinking more than the technique: subtle colour, simple contrast, botanicals interpreted rather than copied. The lotus opens across a dusk of rose and indigo, fine-line tangles moving outward through the wash.
Midnight Paisley began in the sage green and blue phase that followed the Tangled Tranquility works, drawn as Diwali approached. Fine white linework over a midnight ground, turquoise flecking through, holds many paisleys within one. The motif has always travelled: a buta in ancient Persia and India, renamed in Scotland, and recognised wherever it lands.

Worn, Folded, Kept
A 120cm square is generous enough to drape across the shoulders or knot loosely at the neck, and light enough to fold into a bag for travel. Kept folded in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, perfume and moisture, the silk holds its colour.
The scarves are made in India to Tangled Monk's own artwork and specification, and leave the Joo Chiat studio within 2 business days. See Shipping & Delivery and the Returns & Refund Policy.

What size are the scarves?
A 120 x 120cm square, printed on one side.
Is the design on the scarf an original artwork?
The design is Preetie Kohli's original hand-drawn artwork, composed as one uninterrupted drawing and printed edge to edge onto the silk. The scarf carries a printed reproduction of that drawing; the one-of-a-kind originals are the wall art.
How much does a silk scarf cost?
S$175 each. Singapore orders above S$200 ship free on standard delivery.
How do I care for a silk scarf?
Dry clean recommended. Avoid contact with perfumes, cosmetics and moisture, and store it folded in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Where are the scarves made?
The artwork is drawn in Singapore at the Joo Chiat studio. The scarves are made in India to Tangled Monk's own artwork and specification, and the edge of every scarf is hand-rolled.
What inspired Dusk Lotus?
A week Preetie spent among Japanese artisans working in kimono art, indigo dyeing and ceramics. Dusk Lotus carries what stayed with her: subtle colour, simple contrast and a lotus interpreted rather than copied, in rose and indigo.
What inspired Midnight Paisley?
The sage green and blue phase that followed Preetie's Tangled Tranquility works, drawn as Diwali approached. Midnight Paisley gathers many paisleys into one composition in fine white line over a midnight ground.
Is a silk scarf a good gift?
It is one of the most personal pieces in the range: worn rather than displayed, and with no size to get wrong. Gift wrapping is arranged on request through WhatsApp. The scarves also appear in Birthday, Anniversary and Appreciation gifts.
Can I return a scarf?
Yes, within 15 days of receiving it, provided it is unused, in its original packaging and with any tags attached. Full details are in the Returns & Refund Policy.
