About The Many Within One
The Many Within One is a series of three original modular works, each built from many acid-free mini paper tiles that Preetie Kohli hand-draws one by one at our Joo Chiat studio in Singapore and then sets together into a single composition. Each is framed in wood behind glass, from S$1,650 to S$2,300, and is the only one of its kind.
It sits within the Wall Art collection, alongside the long six-tile frames of Rhythm in Six.
What's in The Many Within One
Symmetry of Silence was the first drawn on a black base, where nothing could be softened afterwards. Tapestry of Breath works in Renaissance maroon and black, its tiles patterned in the spirit of the Zentangle® method. The Harmony Within completes the three as a near-square mosaic.
Many Tiles, One Work
Each tile is finished on its own before it joins the rest, so the whole is assembled from many small, complete decisions. Up close you read the individual tiles; from across the room they resolve into one image. You can see more of how a piece is made.
Where The Many Within One Works Best
At roughly 46 to 50cm across, each work holds a wall on its own: above a console, in a dining room, or as the focal point of a study. The near-square format sits comfortably where a long horizontal would feel stretched.

Yes. You receive the original and the only copy. Once a piece sells, it's marked sold and can't be reordered, though we can offer a bespoke commission in a similar spirit.

How do I care for a work on paper tiles?
Keep it away from direct sun and humidity. Dust the frame and glass gently with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid opening the frame or touching the paper.
Can I commission a piece like The Many Within One?
Yes, through the Bespoke page. You talk Preetie through the room and the idea first. Most commissions are finished within two to six weeks, and we'll send a quote once the brief is settled, based on scale, detail, and materials.
How is The Many Within One different from Rhythm in Six?
Both use the same acid-free mini paper tiles. Rhythm in Six sets six of them in one long, low row for above a console. The Many Within One packs many more into a squarer mosaic that holds a wall on its own.
What makes Symmetry of Silence different from the other two?
Symmetry of Silence was the first work drawn on a black base. On black, nothing can be softened or corrected afterwards, so every line had to be right the first time.
