Drawn after a week spent among Japanese artisans working in kimono art, indigo dyeing on silk and linen, and ceramics — where what stayed with Preetie was less the technique than the thinking behind it: subtle colour, simple contrast, botanicals interpreted rather than copied.
The lotus opens across a dusk of rose and indigo, fine-line tangles moving outward through the wash.
Composed as a single uninterrupted artwork and printed edge to edge onto pure silk, expressed as a silk scarf art piece. This scarf also makes a thoughtful gifting piece. Original artwork, worn.
