What original wall art costs at Tangled Monk
Aug 01, 2026
Across 67 works, prices at the Tangled Monk studio in Joo Chiat run from S$295 to S$5,920. The original artworks do not follow a set rule in pricing, though what judges the pricing is the medium, size and the time taken to create the piece. No two pieces are ever the same - each original artwork is made by hand and is one of a kind. It can never be repeated.
The entry point
Five pieces — the A Language of Blue collection — are S$295. Artwork drawn onto raw ceramic, and the perfect entry point into original wall art in the catalogue. The Ethereal Quartet is the same format at S$645, the difference being that those four were drawn as a set and over a longer timeframe.
The middle
Works on handmade and acid-free paper run from S$650 to S$3,288. This is where most of the catalogue sits. All seven Rhythm in Six pieces are S$1,065. All three Tangled Tranquility artworks are S$1,320. The four Khajuraho artworks are S$1,150 to S$1,300.
The top
Four ink on canvas artworks, S$3,280 to S$5,920. Song of the Tide, 78 x 62 cm, is the largest single original artwork the studio sells. All four belong to Riverbed Echoes, drawn by Preetie Kohli, a Certified Zentangle® Teacher.
Away from the wall
A coaster set is S$25, and bags and totes run from S$20 to S$75. These are the pieces people tend to buy for gifting.
Commissions
From S$500, over two to six weeks. A commission begins with a conversation and an agreed concept, so the price is settled before any drawing starts.
Because every wall piece is a separate drawing, a price attaches to that piece and not to a size bracket. The widest gap between two works of the same size is S$688 — Mystic Meadow at S$2,600 and Tangled Currents at S$3,288, both 39 x 51 cm on handmade paper. Size sets the range; it does not set the price.
